Excellent flier, accomplished honker…
Edgar the Juvenile Great Egret may have a problem with authority. Or perhaps he’s got AAD*?
Whatever the reason, once again he’s bringing up the rear, flapping and hollering (we can only presume) “Wait for meee!”
Happily, his siblings seem to hear his honks. They pause, but the lead bird appears none too pleased.
Maybe she’s heard it all before?

His sisters notice, but keep going.
Edgar flaps his wings to gain speed, a maneuver I’ve often seen in Juvenile heron and mature Snowy Egrets.
He’s catching up!
