Only Lyle the Little Blue Heron knows what he’s lunching on here, but odds are he’s after a snack as prehistoric as Lyle himself:
‘The Vole. Some of the earliest mammals in history looked a lot like Voles. I’m not showing a Vole here because they have some winsome qualities, such as, er, they can be cute. They’re often called Field Mice because they look like slightly fatter, shorter-tailed version of a mouse.
But Lyle here eats to live and there are plenty of Voles in the marsh. Chain of life and all that.
