Like a 1967 concert poster from the Fillmore or Family Dog, this orchid quietly blows your mind the more you soak in its splendors.

No fancy filter or post-photography trickery was required to make this blossom so surreal. Below is the potted plant with bare minimum sharpening — above, the same photo, cropped to showcase the labellum, stigma and column.

Georgia O’Keefe celebrated the sexiness of orchids, but they were inherently so for time immemorial.
