Forming Up!

Nine Canada Geese forming up into the start of a typical V-shaped skein.

As this gaggle coalesces into the characteristic V formation of a migrating skein, I managed a parting shot. Pinch to zoom and you can see their little white derrières — and just make out the outlines of heads and bills.

Capturing Canada Geese as they begin to line up in V formation, this photo was taken at the limit of my telephoto, but turned out crisp enough for a post.

Happy landings, brothers and sisters!

Meantime, back at the pond where I stood for this shot, seems as if we may have a nesting pair. Last I walked this way, a Canada Goose was looking maternal, with what looked to be her Canada Gander strutting patrol nearby. Fingers 🤞crossed 🤞for goslings later this spring! 😁🤞
