What Wondrous Wings are These?

Great Egret in Flight over Salt Marsh

Translucent at times, fascinating always, the wings of a mature Great Egret flap slowly but propel her at speed.

Simply watching a Great Egret fly from one salt marsh pond to the next can be entrancing…

The wings beat so slowly, yet they’re so long that they bear her up so gracefully, letting her almost float above the marsh, so she can swoop low and see prey beneath the water surface.

And I love how Eglantine’s long wings let through the spring sunlight. Come back soon!
