I like to think that, if you could walk through Tolkien’s Lothlorièn, it might look a bit like this. If you think that’s a bit sappy, okay by me—I’m too old to care.
But strictly between you and me, much as I admire Peter Jackson, I was kind of let down by his portrayal of Lorien—too much like The Magic Kingdom by night.
Moreover, according to Tolkien, Lothlorièn means “Dream Flower.” Vindication.
I keep saying “this may be my favorite tulip photo” until I post the next one, but this time, honestly…
