Yes! One overcast day, I set my shutter for something like 1/1600 and something irresistible happened…

My beautiful Princess Goldie —the young female Cardinal with the gorgeous golden plumage —became, well, is it too irreverent to call her a comedienne?

She seems to have a gift for it, doesn’t she? Just freeze her in action and presto! Her golden crest becomes a cool Mohawk!

She gave me so many wonderfully animated shots, it was hard to settle on only three so as not to overwhelm you.

So which is the real Goldie? The breathtaking bird equivalent of a teenager—or this mature comedienne?
