Maybe it’s just my overactive imagination, but in this position, and with his Crest fluffed up as in this photo, our friendly Little Blue Heron looks a bit like a storybook dragon.

Hopping a bit with his wings to aid him, Lyle may be repeating habits he learned from Snowy Egets with whom he hung out when he was a snowy white Juvenile.
