And I’ve wondered more than once if the ancient Winged Victory sculpture ( aka the Nike of Samothrace) might have been inspired at least in part by a Great Egret.
Eglantine’s wings even describe a letter V—for Victory!

Eglantine’s beautiful extended wings describe a letter V, which may be one more reason why they call to mind the Winged Victory sculpture in the Louvre Museum.
