How about blood-soaked bandages? (No? Am I being too grisly 😱in my orchid imagery?)
Like many of the Orchids I most admire, they are Phalaenopsis. This macro shot shows them fairly close up, and I only wish I had included something in this shot to communicate their diminutive size.
