These tiny, blood-red blossoms remind me of nothing so much as the beloved tie-dyed shirts of my teen years, to which I even wrote poems. The effect is so unmistakable, you might almost suspect the orchids truly were dyed!
Like many of the Orchids I most admire, they are Phalaenopsis. This macro shot shows them magnified considerably, and I only wish I had included something in this shot to communicate their diminutive size.
