What’s this! Two white birds standing tiptoe on the water?
It’s Edith and Edgar, Juvenile Egrets, and they’re actually sort of hovering—using their green feet to flush out minnows, crustaceans, insects and whatever else might taste good for lunch.
One can’t help noticing Edgar’s crest, and I still can’t tell you why he has one and Edith doesn’t. It could be that Edgar is a bit older? He does seem a bit bigger than Edith in all the shots I’ve captured.
