Marsh Dancing

Juvenile Egrets dance upon the salt marsh

A new Olympic sport?

If only Egrets could participate in the Olympics! As Edith and Edgar the Juvenile Great Egrets flit about the salt marsh, they remind me of Olympic Ice 💃 Dancers—but they’re even more entertaining.

In reality, I would guess, they’re hoping to attract or otherwise churn up some edible crustaceans, minnows, tadpoles or bugs from beneath the surface of the pool…

But their beautiful movements form a meditation we would do well to recall as we go about our own daily routines. Life can be hateful drudgery or a meditative dance.
