Dora the Downy Woodpecker Daughter is the hatchling of one of my best avian friends…
Her Mama never failed to pose for pictures whenever I set up my tripod and gimbal. She seemed to know that I adored her, and reciprocated with poses that captured my heart — and yours too, judging from comments.
So now this youngster shows up, pauses for me to notice her, and even seems to signal me that she’s about to launch! It’s gotta be Mama’s daughter, because she’s stealing suet just as Mother taught her a couple of years ago, and she knows she has nothing to fear from me.
Thank you, Dora! I’m honored.

She looks like a sweetie. Beautiful pix.
Thank you so much. I agree that she has a very sweet disposition — to me, at least. If I’m right about her parentage, she basically grew up with me!
