Blue Boy is a new visitor this week, and he’s going to be one B-I-G Jay.
You’ll be viewing some photographs of Blue Boy perched fairly motionless in a White Pine, but for now, I wanted to show how beautiful he looks in motion.
The Blue Jay wingspan measures anywhere from 33 to 43 centimeters (13-17”) and it looks to me as if Blue Boy may push the limit when he’s full-grown, if indeed he’s not there already. Look how he pinwheels them as he takes flight!
Second in a collection of three photographs. As Blue Boy departs his perch, his wings describe a pinwheel, almost like a helicopter. Buy this photograph.Third in a collection of three photographs. Buy this photograph.
